Which email solution?
At SmartDeCat we understand everyone expects to be able to send email at anytime of the day or night, as and when you require with availability and reliability being a key feature needed for today’s digital world. Due to an ever changing fight against security, spam, rules and recommendations email delivery can seem like a puzzle at the best of times, of course considering there are many aspects to be taken into account and get any one of these wrong often results in your email being rejected or filtered out either by the receiving address or due to spam rules.
Free email solutions
Offered as part of our hosting packages, this solution is best suited to those just getting started and small to medium businesses that do not wish to store many years worth of emails and do not consider emails as being as mission critical.
AuthSMTP type solutions
Allows a cost effective upgrade to your free hosted email system by allowing you to use their services to send emails around the world with greater reliability and with a lesser chance of finding your emails blocked due to spam rules or network issues. Set up is relatively painless requiring you to modify your outgoing email settings on your device and the new password.
Business grade emails
Split in to two groups you have managed and unmanaged options. Managed options refer to a company such as SmartDeCat setting everything up for you and importing your old emails to the new system and this service comes with a small increase in costs. Unmanaged solutions refer to the client signing up with one of the providers and then making a few small changes to their domain names DNS. This option is the cheapest of both.
Business grade emails are designed for anyone who considers their emails to be mission critical, requires large email storage, greater security, and reliable deliverability with the added benefit of being able to send large email attachments. Many options come with additional features such as online only and downloadable software for emails, word documentation, spreadsheets and much more.
Important note:
As with any solution nothing is 100% perfect and things can and will go wrong from time to time. In the case of issues with our free email solutions, if part of our system or an individual email account is blocked from sending emails our technical team will endeavour to get you back up and running as soon as possible.
This is normally by way of requesting an un block with the relevant service or company involved and once an un block request has been submitted you would typically be up and running within a few hours to a few days. Unfortunately the time of this process is out of our hands and we are unable to force companies to unblock you or speed them along.
In the case of outages with companies such as Microsoft or Google, whilst rare do occur and each company has its own rules on sending emails which will be displayed in their terms and conditions. SmartDeCat has no control in these circumstances and support enquires should be directed to the relevant email provider you have chosen.
