To do or not to do?
Posted on 27 February 2008
The enigma of the search engines, or to do or not to do? That definitely is the question.

Search engines want to offer a high standard of excellence in the web sites they provide for their customers. So, what are the features which characterise a high quality web site?

1. To gain high search engine rankings you need several pages and lots of appropriate, pertinent text; preferably with content that can only be found on your site.

2. You must ensure that the search engines are able to interpret your input when analysing the sentence structure and recognising key words. They need to discover exactly what your web pages are about; therefore, your HTML code must be neat and tidy, without confusion or clutter. If you litter your pages with numerous key words this will prevent high rankings rather than improve them. Concentrate on one or two pertinent key words which are truly related to your site, rather than many which have only tenuous links.

3. Your web site needs high quality incoming links. A high quality link is one which is closely related to your site. Links which have a more abstract connection do help, but centralized link systems and exchanges are of no use whatsoever.

Improving your position in the search engines is not an easy task and requires a great deal of work and application. However, your web site is a vitally important tool and needs the same amount of time, effort and dedication which you apply to other areas of your business. Just follow the rules and you will achieve the results and success you crave.

SmartDeCat will help you to attain a superb quality web site and high search engine rankings as our software is SEO friendly and complies to W3C XHTML, HTML and CSS standards.
