A: For flexibility your SmartDeCat™ software allows you to tailor what is shown on the main print list in several ways.

• Limit the list to one section;
  • Open printlist.asp found in the root of your site and add the following at the very top of the page:
    • Replace xx with the section id number
• Sort the order by;
  • Open printlist.asp found in the root of your site and add the following at the very top of the page:
    • to order by title OR
    • to order by the custom box (shipped as sku)
    • to order by the manual sort order
• Now save your changes and upload to your site

A: SmartDeCat™ comes complete with the ability to create static pages for your site, this enables you to make a page quickly and simply by adding the file name you would like to use while creating information pages, sections and portfolio pages. This feature enables you to add additional keywords to your site and page names with meaningful names that also include a keyword get listed better on search engines.

While adding or modifying a section, general information page, main information page, forms or portfolio pages you will notice a box called "static URL", here you can type the name you would like to call the page. ie my_product.asp, once you have completed all information and click save SmartDeCat™ will double check your site to ensure that file name does not already exist, if it does it will automatically modify the name for you and complete the automatic file generation.

You are free to change a file name at anytime and the changes will be completed automatically site wide for you.

When deleting a page or section the static page (file) will also be automatically deleted for you.

While the above method is turned on as default by SmartDeCat™ as this feature further improves your sites search engine optimisation we have also included the ability to completely turn this off.

When turned off (settings tab / use or not use automatic static pages) your SmartDeCat™ software will convert back to using dynamic names.

If you have inadvertently purchased SmartDeCat™ without checking your host has the required settings installed you can turn off automatic static page creations and opt for the manual way. To add a static page manually please refer to the relevant help page associated with the page you wish to create.
