Q: After making a page static I cannot access it via the dynamic URL A: After making a page use a static name the SmartDeCat™ software prevents anyone accessing the page via the original dynamic URL. This is to guard against what the search engines call duplicate content. Another benefit is that it prevents confusion with your clients navigating your site. Q: After upgrading my site I don't get as many hits A: In a new version we changed the way page hits and search results are collected. Now no administrator hits are recorded to provide a more accurate result. With admin hits being recorded your hits are falsely enlarged. Q: Can I add JavaScript to the description fields? A: Yes, however to do so you will have to turn off the HTML editor as for safety the editor will remove any JavaScript code that is added. Q: Can I modify the source code. A: No. SmartDeCat™ has been designed to be safe, reliable and compliant with many browsers and services which would ultimately be effected by such changes. Modifying any of the SmartDeCat™ code is against our terms and conditions of use and in doing so you will invalidate your warrantee V support. Additionally making manually changes could leave your site open to hack attempts and make upgrading harder.
